Blog Post #1
While taking EME2040 during the spring 2026 semester, there are a lot of expectations and hopes I have in regard to what I wish to learn within the class. The primary skills I wish to learn are how to masterfully navigate key online tools and resources. Learning how to use these resources will be key to success in regard to how I manage future classrooms and hopefully future departments within Academia. Websites such as Canva, blogger, and Padlet will be in my toolkit and provide me with information I need to be successful in my career.
In regard to prior experiences, the primary tools I have experience with is most of google sponsored tools (Google Docs, slides, etc). I am just getting to be more comfortable with Microsoft based platforms such as Sheets, OneNote, and outlook. When it comes to creativity tools I have become very accustomed to using Canva to help develop presentations and documents to better present information for classes or notes.
There are many subjects based in Academia and beyond that interest me. At the moment I still have strong ties to anything Music or fine arts related as that was my first passion within the university level. In general I love to do research on current issues related to either public school systems or academia such as funding, new learning concepts, or how to better support communities who may not have access to general tools such as computers, networking, or general funding. Outside of Academia I have done a lot of research of mental and physical health and how to better maintain you mind, body, and spirit; especially when dealing with the workload of school, jobs, etc.
I also only know how to use Docs and Slides, and am looking forward to learning more to remedy my lack of understanding of the subject. I also love music; I took choir in high school and miss it immensely. I am glad to see we share the same interest in that aspect.
